Middle School Production

On the 2nd of December I went to Manurewa Central School. The minute I walked in the auditorium I heard Manurewa Central's orchestra playing their violins, viola, and the bass. The music sounded really lovely. One of my favourite dances was the black or white. The assembly was about diversity. It was about diversity because it was to show our parents all of our cultures.

When Masin said “Black and white” the black and white dancers stood up at the same time. They were standing very beautifully. They stood up so beautifully it looked like they were meeting the queen. The music went on and they started their the dance by pretending to play the guitar. The costume they were wearing was black pants and white t-shirts. Their moves were going up and down which made the dance look amazing. I was surprised that they kept in their lines and were doing the moves at the same time. I wished that I was doing it with them.

My 2nd favourite was the ukulele. Masin said, “Fiji” and the ukulele people stood up at the same time. They went down the stairs and got ukuleles. Masin said, “Toru, wha”. After that the ukulele people played their ukulele in the auditorium. They sounded beautiful.

I recommend that you should come along next year. The performance was absolutely amazing.

Robot

Once upon a time there were 4 best friends.Their names were James, Eldon, Riley, and Michelle. They all loved dancing. One day they went to in the science room. They were playing around and acting very silly because it was their day off. But what they didn’t know was that they were pouring potions together and then they created a evil robot.

One day later one of them accidentally poured one potion in the robot to make them take over the world. They only realised that the robot was a robot at a dance competition. They saw the robot doing things that no other person could ever do. Riley said, “That sort of looks like a robot because it has electric wires coming out of it.”

Riley and her friends went and snuck into his huge beautiful changing room. They hid in the closet. Suddenly  the robot came in the room. They all had a sneak peek to see all its electric wires. Unexpectedly the robot said, “Army come here.” After that his whole army of robots came straight away.

Riley went and got some gear from the basement. She got water guns, iphones from the lounge and 4 shields. After a while the robots army came to her backyard. All of them got their water guns out and shot them. They shot them like wild animals. They shot all of them expect for the last one, the leader. He was the hardest to get. So they all split up around the backyard. It was all up to those 4 best friends. They shot the water at him so fast he couldn’t breath. They were crying with joy.

Hiwi the Kiwi Show

When Manurewa Central school walked through the auditorium doors there was groovy music on. First Minstrel said, “Okey dokey.” Then the crowd shouted out, “Hokey pokey,” and that meant we need to be quiet as a mouse so we could listen to Minstrel.

The first lesson he told us was to always have a fishing ruler when you're fishing. If the fish  is too big it might have baby fish in its tummy so you carefully put it back in the water with a wet towel. If the fish is too tiny you need to put it back in the water because it is a baby and it needs to grow much bigger.

Always pick up a fish with a wet towel because it has this special sunscreen on it and if you wipe it off by just touching it and putting it back in the water it will die.

When you catch your fish put the fish in salt ice because a fish lives in salt water and if you put it in fresh water it won’t taste nice.

Minstrel told us a story about life jackets. The story was... there were 3 strong men that were really good swimmers who thought that they didn’t need life jackets even when the boat was going really fast and the life jackets were in front of the boat. Then all the 3 men went flying out of the boat. They could swim but the boat left them and now they have passed away and that's why you should always wear life jacket.

My favourite part was when the whole school sang “Kai moana, fish from the sea. Kaimoana to feed the family. Fish for the future and there will always be more kaimoana for you and me.”

Dancing with Mythology

On Tuesday the 5th of April Room 16 went to Vodafone Events Centre to learn about Maori language, Maori myths and to dance. When we got there we sat on the floor and listened to the stories about Pou Kapua.

Gabby told us about Ranginui and Papatuanuku. She said that Ranginui and Papatuanuku had seventy boys.Ranginui and Papatunuku hugged each other and there was no light between them. Their seventy kids were between them and they were so squashed that they wanted to separate them. Tangaroa tried first but he couldn't do it. Then Tane Mahutu tried and he separated them.

After all the talking we played a game. The game was to flex our bodies to make an animal or a boat. We formed into groups. Our group started first. Our group did an animal. The animal was an ant. We tried to form an ant but it looked like a nest. But someone guessed it. I was glad because my back hurt!

Now it was the next groups turn. Their group did a falling tree. The other group did the waka (the boat). The last group did Rata looking at the beautiful tree.

What if story

What if I lived under the sea? The first thing I would do under the sea is do a bunch of back flips and front flips.

Any way my name is Incredible Fish Girl. I’m so incredible my teeth are as long as a human’s leg. My body shape would be made out of metal so when someone try’s to attack me it won’t hurt.

I would only eat chocolate and lollies. I will be allergic to vegetables and meat. I would have saved 200,345 fishes. People would call me pretty because I saved them. I like saving people because I like to be kind.
